Our "House Painting Services" are always pleased to be using Moore paints regal or aura paints, they are the best. When someone calls in inquiring about having their house painted with Benjamin Moore I know already the quality of work they are looking for. Beny Moore paint is not classified as a cheaper inexpensive paint it's more of a high-end and costly one. But not so because compared to other paints is only a few dollars more. This paint company doesn't over advertise their product and make well-designed marketing campaigns to move their paint. Places like "Home Depot" make beautiful advertising with great impact trying to sell their paint products which they don't personally manufacture as a paint company. Home Depot is a box store that sells everything from toilets to drywall. Mississauga handyman does a lot of shopping there and is happy to have such a store. But will never buy paint from them. We and many other painting contractors do not like to use Behr paint. When you compare the two paints you will discover that there is only a dollar or two difference between their paint and regal paint.
Is the one place that you end up using up a lot of paint. And this is where you might want to consider the cost of the paint. The things that you should consider when buying paint is how much paint you need to paint an area. Also, take into account if it is a large color change or a minor one. If you're painting in the same shade family you will need less paint than if you are painting over a dark wall with a light color or vice versa. But it's mostly if you're painting a light color over a dark wall that will consume more quantity of paint. Dark paints generally have better coverage so you will be able to get away using less paint in some instances.
For example, let's say you're painting over a dark beige or green deep in the color you have two choices. An experienced painter who has dealt a lot with Benjamin Moore's regal paints will know what he can get away with. If the original color of the room is a light to medium shade you might be able to get away with two coats of paint but if it is a dark shade you might consider using a gallon primer first. Primer is much cheaper than paint is. Also, it goes on quite a bit quicker and easier. You might also consider tinting your primer to your finished color. Tinting your primer helps in some instances when you're using darker finish colors.
In most instances and cases on interior wall painting when painting with pastel colors all you need to do is just apply two coats of paint and you have a perfect job. Also by the way you do not need a primer when using this paint. For example, if you have a couple of spots on the wall that had wall damages or holes and cracks in the wall and you repair them with plaster, you can spot prime them with this paint. But you must let it dry completely before proceeding to paint the interior wall of the room. If you don't let it dry then you are not giving the paint a chance to seal the plaster repair. This you cannot do a cheaper paint because it does not have any additives allowing for priming.
Winning paint for coverage, Benjamin Moore's Regal Select did an excellent job covering up both black and white surfaces. This paint and primer in one proved resistant to fading when exposed to UV light. In GHRI tests and we found we were able to clean a range of stains off its surface without leaving behind marks. It's low VOC and should be largely resistant to wear.
