One can enjoy a house painting project. It may be painting the bedroom, living room, or the kitchen. But before dipping your brush in a can of paint, know the dos and don’ts when painting, and then be ready for color ideas. Following and learning the painting process makes a good house painter.
House Painting
The first step in is using the correct type of paint. Flat paints are the dullest. This type of paint is hard to clean and should be avoided in areas that easily attract stains. It can be used for hiding wall flaws. The eggshell paint, which is also known as the satin paint, is used for painting children’s rooms. This type of paint is washable and dirt can easily be removed. Semi gloss paints are used in rooms that are often wet. It easily repels moisture. The gloss paint has the highest degree of gloss and shine. It is best used on small surfaces only.
House painters
should also learn the “brushing up” basics. There are two different types of brushes, the natural and synthetic bristles. Synthetic brushes can be used for latex and oil based paint, while natural brushes can only be used for the oil based paints. There are also a selection of paint brushes. Wall brushes are used on wide surfaces. In painting smaller surfaces, it is best to use the sash brush. Tim brushes are often used for window seals. Paint rollers are used for painting large flat surfaces like walls.
Apply masking tape or a paint tape to areas that will not be painted to avoid getting paint on them. Wait until the paint is dry before removing the tape. The hot air coming from a hairdryer while lifting the tape after painting will avoid damage on the painted area.
House painters should always start at the corners when painting a wall or a ceiling. Then, make long, even strokes vertically starting at the edges going to the middle of the surface. Avoid using another can of paint to prevent uneven coloring. Always make sure that the brush carries an equal amount of paint color to get even results. Allow the walls and ceilings to dry between applications when applying multiple coats of paint.
After the painting job is completed, wash the brushes and the rollers. Soak the brush in water or paint solvent for a while then take it out and clean it. For paint rollers, rinse the metal trays.
Avoid touching a newly painted wall. A fresh coat of paint may take as long as 30 days to dry out completely.
