House painting
is the last step of the construction process. Choosing a color palette for your home’s exterior walls is more than just selecting your favorite color. One must also consider the structure, style, and the color that would fit; you should also give a thought to the colors that would not clash with the neighboring houses.
Know your home’s architectural style to see if it falls under the traditional, modern, or neo-eclectic style. Traditional structured houses will look best if painted with traditional colors. Blue, red, gray, khaki, white, tan, black, and burlap are some of the traditional colors. More choices of color palette can be used for modern and neo-eclectic houses.
Before painting your home, know if your neighborhood’s bylaws permit a major house painting activity. The older and more elite neighborhood restricts painting activities. In some locations with no restrictions, check the exterior colors of the neighboring homes. Then, choose your own color scheme.
If your houses is constructed from bricks or stones, that does not mean it can’t be painted. Though bricks or stone materials look fine without paint, it would be best to add color to it. The doors and window seals can be painted with a paint color that will compliment the exterior walls. Once the structure, style, and color scheme have been considered, search for the part of the house that can’t be easily changed. The color hue of the roof is a good example. This will give harmony to the color palette chosen. Neutral colors will work best with a dark colored roof. Some of these colors are blue, green, and gray. While bright, bold colors will blend well with a warm colored roof. In house painting, it is always best to use related colors of different tones.
Homes in a warm climate would benefit from light colored house paints, as it would make the insides of the house cooler. The darker colors absorb heat coming from the sun and make a home feel warmer. A traditional color scheme is best to be used for a manor house. Bright shades or tones would be perfect for houses in a tropical environment. Avoid using color green too much if the house is mostly designed and made of wood.
House painting, using the correct blend of colors, can transform the look of a house. Taking also into account the design, style, and the home’s aesthetic. Paint colors are not just for transformation. It protects the house by shielding it from the sun, wind and rain.
